We are partnering with a school district in Maricopa County, Arizona to hire a dedicated School-Based Physical Therapist (PT) for the 2026-2027 school year.

This part-time opportunity (20 hours per week) offers the chance to make a meaningful impact supporting students with physical disabilities, motor challenges, and mobility needs. You'll work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students safely access and participate in their educational environment while promoting independence and student success.


Position Details:

  • Location: Onsite in Maricopa County, AZ

  • Schedule: Part-Time

  • Weekly Hours: 20 hours per week

  • School Year: 2026-2027


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations to assess motor skills, mobility, and physical access needs in the school setting.

  • Develop and implement therapy plans aligned with IEP goals and educational needs.

  • Provide direct physical therapy services to improve strength, balance, coordination, endurance, and mobility.

  • Teach students safe mobility techniques and support the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.

  • Recommend environmental modifications and accommodations to support student access and participation.

  • Collaborate with educators, related service providers, and families to support student progress throughout the school day.

  • Train staff on safe handling, positioning, transfers, and mobility support strategies.

  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.


Qualifications:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy

  • Current Arizona Physical Therapist license

  • School-based or pediatric experience preferred

  • Knowledge of IEP processes, special education regulations, and school-based service delivery

  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills

  • Ability to travel between school locations within the district, as needed

  • Passion for supporting students' physical development, independence, and access to education
