We're partnering with Aurora Schools to hire a dedicated School Nurse for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity supporting an early childhood setting with students who have diverse learning and medical needs.

You'll play a vital role in supporting student health, safety, and access to learning while collaborating with educators, therapists, and families to ensure students receive the care they need throughout the school day.

About the Opportunity

This position supports an early childhood program serving students ages 3-5, including students with significant support needs and individualized education plans (IEPs). The school has a collaborative multidisciplinary team that includes special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, mental health providers, and other related service professionals. The School Nurse will play an essential role in supporting student health, safety, and access to education.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct school nursing services and respond to student health needs throughout the school day.

• Develop, implement, and maintain individualized healthcare plans for students.

• Train, delegate, and supervise staff on student health procedures as required.

• Participate in the IEP process and collaborate with educational teams regarding student health accommodations and supports.

• Conduct vision, hearing, and dental screenings.

• Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements.

• Respond to student illnesses, injuries, and medical needs.

• Serve as a resource for staff, families, and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns.

• Support student safety and ensure appropriate health accommodations are in place.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (or three years of practical experience as permitted by requirements).

• Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license.

• Colorado Special Services Provider (SSP) License with School Nurse endorsement (or eligibility to obtain).

• Current CPR certification.

• Minimum of three years of current clinical experience.

• Experience supporting students in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred.

• Strong collaboration, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
