Responsibilities:
-
Deliver specialized instruction to support students with disabilities in achieving their educational goals.
-
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
-
Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
-
Implement accommodations and modifications to support student access to the general education curriculum.
-
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records and documentation.
-
Collaborate with families, educators, related service providers, and support staff to promote student success.
-
Support students' academic, social, behavioral, and functional development within the school environment.
-
Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other school-based collaboration activities.
Qualifications:
-
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Special Education endorsement
-
Experience working with students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs preferred
-
Knowledge of IEP development, special education regulations, and evidence-based instructional practices
-
Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
-
Ability to differentiate instruction and implement accommodations and modifications
-
