This role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction and implementing IEP goals. The Special Education Teacher plays a vital role in fostering academic growth, social-emotional development, and an inclusive school environment.
Position Details:
- Start Date: 8/13/2026
- End Date: 11/9/2026
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Grade Levels: 3rd-5th
- Location: In Person, 36 hours per week
- School Year: 2026/2027
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects using differentiated teaching methods
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state and federal special education regulations
- Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's preferred)
- Valid Illinois teaching license with Special Education endorsement
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preferably in grades 3rd-5th
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
