We're partnering with a K-8 charter school in El Paso County, Colorado (Colorado Springs area) to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher / Case Manager.
This Special Education Teacher (Case Manager) supports students with disabilities by managing IEP services, collaborating with school teams, and ensuring students receive the appropriate accommodations and instruction to succeed.
Position Details:
- Schedule: 35 hours weekly
- School Year: 2026/2027
- Setting: On-site, K-8 charter school
Responsibilities:
- Manage special education caseload and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned students
- Coordinate the development, implementation, and compliance of IEPs (meetings, documentation, timelines)
- Collaborate with general education teachers and service providers to implement accommodations/modifications
- Provide direct instruction and/or support in inclusion and/or small-group settings (based on student needs)
- Monitor progress toward IEP goals; collect data and adjust supports as needed
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and services
- Maintain accurate, compliant documentation aligned to state and federal special education requirements
- Participate in multidisciplinary team collaboration and problem-solving to support student outcomes
Qualifications:
- Active Colorado Special Education Teacher License (required)
- Experience with IEP case management and special education compliance strongly preferred
- Experience supporting K-8 learners in school settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of accommodations, modifications, and evidence-based special education practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
