We're partnering with a school district in Lake County, Illinois to hire a dedicated Certified School Nurse (CSN) for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an on-site, full-time.
You'll provide school-based nursing services to support student health, safety, and access to learning--collaborating with educators and support teams to ensure students' medical needs are met throughout the school day. This includes supporting K-12 plus transition-age students (ages 18-22) with varying levels/types of support needs.
Position Details:
- Location: In person (On-site), Lake County, IL
- Hours: 8:00 AM-3:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday
- Weekly Hours: 35 hours/week
- Start Date: Anticipated 8/17/2026
- Pay Range: $42-$48 per hour
- Work Setting: On-site only (no virtual/remote candidates)
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct school nursing services and respond to student health needs during the school day
- Support and maintain student health plans and required health documentation
- Collaborate with special education and school teams to support student access and safety
- Deliver basic health education and reinforce wellness/safety practices as needed
- Communicate with families and staff regarding student health needs while maintaining confidentiality
- Support campus/district health procedures and compliance requirements as applicable
Qualifications:
- Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with CSN endorsement (Certified School Nurse)
- School-based experience preferred (K-12)
- Comfort supporting students with varying levels/types of support needs, including transition-age students (18-22)
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work fully on-site (no virtual/remote)
