We're partnering with a school partner in Norfolk County, Massachusetts to hire an Occupational Therapist (OT) for an on-site Extended School Year (ESY) assignment supporting secondary students and a post-secondary transition program.
This is a part-time summer opportunity focused on helping students build the functional, sensory, and fine-motor skills they need to access instruction, participate at school, and increase independence.
Position Details:
- Role: Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Setting/Student Population: Secondary ESY program + post-secondary transition (Launch-style) program
- Location: Norfolk County, MA (on-site; no hybrid/tele-therapy)
- Program Dates: Summer 2026 ESY (anticipated early July through Aug 6, 2026)
- Schedule: Mon-Thurs, 8:30am-1:30pm
- Hours: ~20 hours/week
- Evaluate students to identify fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-regulation, and functional school participation needs using appropriate screenings and standardized assessments.
- Develop and implement IEP-aligned OT goals and service plans that support educational access and student independence.
- Provide direct therapy and/or consultative services (individual and small group) targeting areas such as handwriting, motor planning, sensory regulation, executive functioning supports, and ADL/school routines as appropriate.
- Recommend and support assistive technology and adaptive tools (e.g., pencil grips, seating supports, visual schedules, sensory tools) and train staff in effective use.
- Collaborate with special education staff, related service providers, and caregivers to carry over strategies across classrooms and school routines.
- Document services, progress notes, and compliance-related records in alignment with state/federal requirements and campus procedures.
- Participate in IEP meetings and progress monitoring to ensure services remain effective and adjusted as student needs evolve.
- Massachusetts Occupational Therapist license (required).
- School-based OT experience supporting students in special education settings (preferred).
- Strong assessment skills and ability to translate results into practical, measurable goals for educational participation.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced campus environment.
- Comfort supporting a range of needs, including sensory regulation, fine motor skill development, and functional independence.
