The School Social Worker supports students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success by providing counseling, connecting families with resources, and collaborating with educators to create a safe and supportive school environment.
Position Details:
- Start Date: 8/20/2026
- End Date: 11/2026
- Schedule: M-F school hours
- Grade Levels: K-8
- School Year: 2026/2027
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling services to support students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement intervention plans that promote student success.
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings by offering social-emotional insights and recommendations.
- Conduct assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and monitor student progress.
- Partner with families and connect them to community resources to address barriers impacting student learning.
- Support crisis intervention and promote a positive, inclusive school climate.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement or eligibility to obtain.
- Experience working with K-8 students in a school setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, social-emotional learning, and special education processes.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and community agencies. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
