We are seeking several dedicated and passionate Special Education Teachers to join an excellent academic team in Litchfield County, CT on a short-term basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to support middle school-aged students with diverse learning needs in a resource room setting. You'll play a key role in helping young learners grow academically, socially, and emotionally while working within a supportive and collaborative school environment.

Position Details:

• Location: In-person in Litchfield County, CT (no hybrid or remote options).
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, full-time school schedule
• Weekly Hours: 35 hours per week
• Start Date: September 2026
• End Date: November 2026
• Grade Level(s): Middle School, grades 6-8

Responsibilities:

• Support elementary-aged students in grades 6-8 in a resource room setting through differentiating instruction to meet their individual educational goals, with particular focus on behavioral support.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), modify curriculum, and track student progress.
• Provide individualized instruction to cultivate academic, social, and emotional growth while managing student behavior and fostering inclusion.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field.
• Special Education Teaching Certification in the state of Connecticut - either Initial, Provisional, or Professional teaching certification.
• Experience providing direct Special Education instruction to students with behavioral support needs; previous middle school teaching experience preferred.
