We're partnering with a school district in Cook County, Illinois to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher (ESY) for Summer 2026 ESY. This is an on-site role supporting a self-contained Behavior Support classroom (elementary).

You'll provide specialized instruction and behavioral/SEL supports for students whose emotional/behavioral needs require a structured setting, using positive, evidence-based strategies in collaboration with the school team.

Position Details:

• Location: In-person (on-site), 7:45 AM - 12:15 PM
• Schedule: Full-time or part-time hours; specific days/hours are flexible
• Program Dates: July 6, 2026 - July 30, 2026
• Orientation: June 29, 2026 (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM) and June 30, 2026 (8:00 AM - 12:00 PM)
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 18 hours/week
• Pay Range: $40-$50/hour
• Caseload: 8-10 students
• Student Age/Grade: Rising 1st - 3rd grade

• Provide special education instruction in a self-contained, behavior-support setting
• Implement behavior supports and proactive classroom management strategies
• Support students' social-emotional skill development and coping strategies
• Collect and document student progress and service notes as required
• Collaborate with the ESY team (teachers, related service providers, and support staff)
• Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive learning environment aligned to student needs

• Special Education teaching license/certification (as required for roles in Illinois)
• Experience supporting students with emotional/behavioral needs in a structured setting (preferred)
• Strong classroom management and behavior-support skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary school team
• Ability to meet district onboarding requirements (e.g., background check and TB test)
