We're partnering with a school partner in Will County, Illinois to hire a Dual Language Teacher (Spanish) for an on-site Leave of Absence (LOA) assignment.
This is a full-time, first-semester opportunity in a dual language program, ideal for an educator who's confident delivering instruction in Spanish and English, collaborating in a co-teaching model, and supporting multilingual learners through strong, culturally responsive teaching practices.
Position Details:
- Role: Dual Language Teacher - Spanish (LOA)
- Setting/Student Population: Dual language program (grade level/class assignment TBD; co-teaching model)
- Location: Will County, IL (on-site; no hybrid/remote)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (school-day hours)
- Hours: ~37.5 hours/week
Responsibilities:
- Deliver standards-aligned instruction in a dual language/bilingual setting, providing instruction and language supports in Spanish and English as appropriate to the program model.
- Collaborate in a co-taught classroom (planning, instruction, data review, classroom systems, and student supports).
- Differentiate instruction for a range of language proficiency levels and learning needs while maintaining high expectations.
- Develop lesson plans, learning activities, and assessments that support literacy, language development, and core academic growth.
- Implement classroom routines and positive behavior supports to create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor progress using formative/summative assessments and adjust instruction based on student data.
- Communicate effectively with families/caregivers and school team members to support student success.
- Complete required documentation and participate in team meetings as needed (e.g., grade-level collaboration, student support meetings).
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with the appropriate certificate for the grade

- Type 03 for K-5 or
- Type 09 for 9-12 and 6-8 typically Type 03/09 plus Middle school endorsement.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) and ESL endorsement/approval (or the equivalent credentialing required for bilingual/dual language instruction).
- For grades 6-12, appropriate content-area endorsement/approval (or sufficient coursework) as required.
- Ability to teach and collaborate in a dual language and co-teaching environment.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and team collaboration skills.
- School-based experience in bilingual/dual language settings (preferred).
